| The pine tree is sometimes called "Tokiwa-gi(evergreen tree)" in Japan.
As it has a thousand years of lifetime and the color of the needles does not change in all seasons.
People have believed that it is a symbol of the good fortune and the deities can use it as temporary body.
Pine tree motif can be often seen with combination of bamboo and plum, or long life crane and turtle.
